Salaf calls on government to offer military training to citizens “before Jews take over the country”

Salaf calls on government to offer military training to citizens “before Jews take over the country” thumbnail

Religious NGO Jamiyyathusalaf has called on the government to “provide military training to all Muslim Maldivians and familiarise citizens with the use of modern weaponry” before “Jews take over the country”, days before a controversial visit by a team of Isreali surgeons to offer free-of-charge eye camps in Male’, Gaaf Dhaal Thinadhoo and Addu Atoll Hithadhoo.

A statement on Salaf’s website claims that “Maldivians would not accept under any circumstances extremist Jewish organisations from Israel, which ignores UN resolutions in brutalising Muslims, exerting influence in the Maldives.”

Following the announcement of the eye camp last month, the Islamic Foundation of the Maldives called on the government to “shun all medical aid from the Zionist regime” and not to normalise relations with Israel.

The Foundation claimed that Maldivians should be wary of the eye surgeons as Isreali medical teams “have become notorious for illegally harvesting organs from non-Jews around the world.”

Political Counsellor at the Israeli Embassy in New Delhi, Itay Tagner, dismissed the claims as “outrageous and ridiculous” with “not one gram of truth to it.”

The religious conservation Adaalath party, coalition partner of the ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) which controls the Islamic Ministry, meanwhile issued a press release yesterday claiming that it has learned “from reliable sources” that the camp is funded by the American-Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC).

“Doctors who are coming for this eye camp are from a Zionist organisation called ‘Eyes from Zion’,” reads the Adhaalath statement. “Don’t think that these are doctors from a normal hospital! We have learned that a group from the Israeli Foreign Ministry will be coming with them.”

It adds that while the party has welcomed medical teams from countries such as Germany, America and India in the past, the Israeli delegation was a different matter.

“Allegations that the Maldivian government has secret ties with the Israeli government is something Maldivian citizens should be concerned about today,” it continues. “What is the truth about claims that some senior government officials made secret trips to Israel via Jordan?”

Adhaalath further claims that the Isreali government gifted a floating ambulance to the Maldives in June this year but was not made public by the Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

The statement adds that “Zionists wishing to freely assist a 100 percent Muslim country defies logic” since it is “as clear as the afternoon sun that Jews would not wish well for Muslims”, cautioning that help from Israel would only come with “a hidden agenda”.

“Today it’s a team of doctors. Tomorrow it will be Israeli flights. Then will follow Israeli teachers, technicians and advisors,” it reads, adding that Adhaalath has voiced concern with the government’s efforts “to dim the role of Islamic studies” ever since it began pursuing relations with the Jewish state.

The party claims that the government’s plans to make Islam an optional subject in higher secondary education and allegedly remove reservations it holds to international conventions “could no longer be seen as coincidences.”

The party cautions citizens to be wary of Jews infiltrating the Maldives and “be watchful of agents that facilitate their plans”.

However, Islamic Minister Dr Abdul Majeed Abdul Bari told Minivan News today that the ministry has neither raised concerns with the government nor urged the authorities not to go ahead with the camp.

Bari insisted that the Adhaalath press release did not reflect the views of the Islamic Ministry.

Some 739 people in Male’ and 879 in Addu and Fuvahmulah have registered for treatment at the eye camp on December 9.

Desperate people will abandon their believes to get free medical treatment.

Make us more desperate and we will do more of what the government wants.

I had been thinking why IGMH condition had deteriorated all of a sudden to the extent that there were not enough gadgets to carry out a simple blood test!

As Mai said above desperate people will clutch even at a straw to save their lives.

Yes, desperate Muslims cast away in the huge ocean with only pork on board will consume it to save their lives.

This whole thing is equal to a cast away health sector under Anni’s administration, and all that done on purpose.

For what? To make Maldivians DROP on their knees and beg?

To make them clutch at Israeli surgeons like a dead man clutching at a straw.

Oh! The gravity of the situation! The gravity of having to eat pork!

The intense hate this administration harbours toward our religion and culture.

    This is shameful and disgusting?

Do they consider all Maldivians as their guinea pigs?

This is the exact problem we face from these Pakistani and Saudi “educated” extremists! They’re totally distorting Islam and its peaceful message. Where in Islam does it allow hatred of another people, based on their religion? Where is the message of tolerance that Islam teaches?

We should train ourselves to fight extremism. However, unlike the extremists, we don’t need weapons to fight. We just need to engage the brain Allah gave us to fight these “infidel” extremists.

We welcome the Israeli doctors; they’re here to help our people in desperate need. We do not agree with the policies of the Israeli government, but that’s a different matter.

It is obvious that Israeli policy makers see a secular government in the offing, and is illustrious in its urge to capitalize on this window period- a time when the Anni regime (lets face it, a 25% president and a rogue cabinet on the loose counts as a regime)is uncertain of its place in the history of Maldivian Islamophobia.

Not all of the Anni clubs motifs are misplaced, some are genuinely geared to ostensibly display results to the people. Governments projects fueled by foreign debt and all. A celebrity government as today would be characterized this one-man government and his ‘close aides’, they are equally determined to make a name on the International stage and arrive, if they would, on the precipice of the nearby elections, with a bang.

It is not entirely wrong to assume that a president who seeks counsel from the Rothschilds is far and removed from the designs of Jewish lobbyists and European, British parliamentarians. To refuse Israels invitation to dock here, would be blasphemy as far as Anni’s shrewd yet still untested foreign policy is concerned. Not while the whole world is eying the remarkable little man whos taken upon himself the duties of saving the planet from the throes of climate obfuscation by saying yes, we suffice as a real litmus test for the climate change front; our tidal surges and shifting sands (that’s all it is really) does indeed make evident quite vividly the dangers of global warming yada yada.

And therefore my friends, Anni today stands to make a Hail Mary pass while caught in the jaws of his prime constituency (the MDP Haruge all of whom are suffering from various manner of delusions as far as where the country is really headed), the largely overwhelmingly Moslem electorate and his new Christian & Jewish friends it would have to be said, whether by his design or not.

Meanwhile he continues to make large scale sales of governments subsidiaries to private parties with designs of their own, some of which border on national security considerations.

Really, there is no conspiracy here. Its just a bad case of a dhivehi Vitruvian Man caught in grave indecision (the jolly fellows in Europe and its Machiavellian think tanks and NGOs certainly think him a delight for taking on their ‘new cause’). The real irony is its in full view of the world media, and nobody’s got wind of it.

It is obvious Zions ophthalmologists are coming here to make a statement. These are testing times for the self-declared president (he’s reaching that harbor now) who must decide what to do with his new found Anglo-European friends. The locals sure are not happy with it. Appointments were made because we have been reduced to the level of scavengers, have you been to IGMH? Not enough super-specialists, not enough equipment, not enough world class medicines.

Many Maldivians being the uneducated simpletons with machetes they are, are as of yet, I would presume, undecided on where this president is headed and what impact he has had on their lives, as far as his presidency in general is concerned.

The issue here is that it is a government realizing its wealth of scarce resources, its dependence on European Money Lending institutions and its elite puppeteers, in the midst of International attention. It therefore has resigned to that very dependence, cronyism, nepotism and corruption by necessity. It therefore lacks transparency, accountability inside Dhivehi-raaje. There is also no opposition that could effectively reign them in.

SO the doctors are coming, Islamists are protesting, The media is in a frenzy hungry for more, and determined in their sensationalism. Meanwhile the electorate has lined the ticket counter. And all eyes are on minivannews.

The elections will decide nothing. There is indecision both in the presidency and in its people.

It’s not even funny when these extremists say, “provide military training to all Muslim Maldivians and familiarise citizens with the use of modern weaponry”!

This is exactly what they learned in the Madhrasaas of Pakistan and in the training camps of Afghanistan. Now they want to start these training camps right here in our country! Beware!

  10. The Balrog on Sun, 5th Dec 2010 7:49 PM

Why don’t Salaf provide us with free health care camps then instead of going to remote islands? Unlike those who earn thousands every day, there are poor Maldivians who cannot afford to go to even the nearest Sri Lanka to get medical treatment. Salaf doesn’t speak for all Maldivians or the whole Muslim world. Remember that. Also remember that there are poorer people than you.

Now to main topic, which is training public with military equipment, really! i think Salaf is already doing it with various camps, internet etc. govt does not have to do anything,. your masters in Arabia can provide the funds and the artilleries if you would just care to come out clean.. tell us the truth…

It is a shame that these leaders of a religion that preaches peace and tolerance (especially for themselves when they are in countries where they are the minority) would use Islam as a springboard for hate and discrimination.

Again, another self-serving attempt at capitalizing on hate and fear to make yourself politically relevant. I have a question for Salaf. What have you done to deal with the country’s lack of healthcare for the poor, besides block attempts to address it?

Your backward and bigoted mentally does nothing for making people believe that Muslims are the peace-loving people they espouse to be as they declare violence and discrimination to be anti-Islamic.

You are an insult to the evolution of human dignity and peaceful message of Islam.

    Bullet Wounds and Breast Implants
„Plastic Surgeon Prefers War to Cocktail Parties“
And feel ashamed of yourself, Salaf. And also feel ashamed for your vile “brothers” in arab lands (article written by an Israeli Arab citizen): “Northern blaze delights many in the Arab world”. This is beyond pale, isn´t it?

this article is just an attempt to deflect the real issue and typical of minivan to portray maldivians as extremists. the real issue is that health care in this country has deteriorated. there is no denying the treatment of palestinians by the state of israel. I have no issues consulting a Jewish doctor, however, however, it is against my morals to accept free medical treatment from the government of israel, but I can afford alternative treatment. i cant help but be suspicious of the motives behind this whole thing. If they hate Israel so much then they should stop using mobile phone services, because both of the telecom operators use Israeli made equipment. These Salafs should also stop using the Internet as a lot of Jews are/were involved in the development of it and Israeli made equipment are used quite a lot.

And the idiots who called for military training should know that their Islamist compatriot terrorist’s favourite weapon, the AK47, was designed and developed by atheists in the former USSR. Hence any military training should involve only swords. If swords were good enough for the early Muslims, who these Salafs claim to be emulating, then it should be good enough for the Salafis.

  42. Ilyas Ahmed on Mon, 6th Dec 2010 3:34 PM

Why is Minivan News giving so much regular coverage in the media to “Salaf” and so-called “Islamic Foundation” who are nothing but 2 small time NGOs with a handful of extremist members? Has anyone bothered to check how many registered members do these two NGOs have?

Such groups only seek media limelight and we should not be helping to spread their hate by giving them a voice through such media coverage.

In every country you find such cults and lunatics. I call upon Minivan News to refrain from giving so much prominent coverage to these loonies and their extremist ideas.

While I acknowledge that there is a relatively small but highly vocal group of such radical hate mongers, they do not speak for the majority of the people in the Maldives.

Most people are going about their day to day lives and have no sympathy for these illiterate Pakistani brain-washed extremists who do not represent Islam. Cults like Salaf and Islamic Foundation are the true enemies of Islam who are destroying the good name of Islam. These crazy lunatics are the representatives of Satan creating evil by misrepresenting our beloved religion Islam.

  43. Ilyas Ahmed on Mon, 6th Dec 2010 4:09 PM

Prophet Muhammad (MPBUH) was no hate monger. All those pretending to be’holyer-than-thou’ are nothing but Satanists hell bent on destroying the true religion of Islam that Allah revealed to his Prophet to show the people right path.

Religion and Islam is about choosing “Good” over evil and “Peace” over “Violence”. The greeting of Muslims is “Assalaam Alakum” or “May Peace Be Upon You” and these words illustrate what true Islam is all about. The Pakistani brain-washed or self-taught extremists are nothing but social unfits and outcasts from the fringe of society seeking a political voice to spread hate.

Just because they spread their hate under the name of Islam doesn’t make them the spokesmen for Islam not make them religious.

I am a muslim too and I call upon President Nasheed to arrest all the leaders of Salaf and Islamic Foundation for deviating from true Islam and breaking the the Law (Religious Harmony Act). They should be charged for advocating terrorism and must be sentenced to life.

Now I would like to see Minivan News give me equal treatment and write an article with the headline “Devout Maldivian Muslim calls Upon President Nasheed to Arrest the Leaders of Salaf and Islamic Foundation”. Why not? If you can give them a voice to spread their hate, why not give us a voice to condemn them too? If you wish I can register an NGO under some name and then perhaps you might oblige!

I will offer USD1,000 to any judge in Maldives which issues an arrest warrant and orders the Police to arrest these war criminals on arrival. If in England the courts can allow arrest warrants against Israeli foreign minister and defense minister for alleged war crimes under the Geneva Convention, why cannot Maldives do so.

I hope other Maldivians will chip in some cash because these days it seems it is ok if your a war criminal against Muslims because its just Muslims.

Even the Goldstone report accused Israel of war crimes, but all western countries ignored Israeli crimes and concentrated on Palestinians who were fighting against oppression to get back their land, according the their border set by the United Nations.

    Voices?

The same voices that came out to allow alcohol boozing all over Maldives?

Didn’t they VANISH like little cockroaches, when the real voices came out?

Voices such as yours are not real voices.

They are the lewd whispers of Iblees.

Defeating satanic whispers of your proud ‘laadheene baigandu’ is as simple as downing a cup of water for people who keep a real voice.

You can sing like Pavarotti in your bathroom, but once you come out, start over!

    Doe-a deer, a female deer!
    Ray-a drop of golden sun.
Me-a name, I call my self.
Far- a long, long, long, too long way to RUN!

Next time before you open your mouth like a rotten cabbage pretending to have a voice – think it over for at least a week in your bed!

For God’s sake don’t you see what is going on?

Muslims are not asking you to lift heavy boulders.

They are asking you to obey God’s law. Give charity. Keep your chastity. Hold steadfast to your prayers. Lower your gaze. Prevent vice. Promote good deeds. Love your children. Love your parents. Love your neighbours. Fast the month. Spend wisely. Stay away from drugs and alcohol. Eat with moderation. Respect your women folk. Respect your elders.

If you hear something other than these in Salaf or in whatever Muslim NGO’s voice, then your are listening from the wrong ear, maybe somewhere down there!

Open your eyes. Open your heart. The world is not forever!

Draw closer to God and His Path!

Refrain from satisfying the whispers of the devil like calling on the government to legalize boozing, gay marriage, doping, gambling, adultery, sodomy, buggery, fornication (just use condom), pornography, idol worship, sex tourism, massage parlours, whore-houses, brothels.

Is that why you want to come out against Muslims?

Whats wrong in accepting a gitmo prisoner that too a Muslim? Moreover, with moolah coming in as additional package.

Things taken in right proportion are healthy. Same goes with alcohol. Medicine(s) contain alcohol and some even have snake poisons. Besides, U seem to be forgetting that your Salaf friends propagate wine & women (but) after death.

“Religion and Islam is about choosing “Good” over evil and “Peace” over “Violence”. The greeting of Muslims is “Assalaam Alakum” or “May Peace Be Upon You” and these words illustrate what true Islam is all about. “Saudis wanted US to attack Iran. Why?”

Is that even a question? Why would MDP and DRP be at loggerheads while still representing the Maldivian parliament under the same roof?

“Why Saudi Arabia is donating money to Al-qaida and other militant organisations.”

Does that even qualify as a question? Ask yourself why do Americans and Jewish lobbyists fund Israel in billions of dollars?

What’s wrong in accepting a gitmo prisoner that too a Muslim?

Are you insane? Are we the their prisons division?

I heard that Pakistan also produced some of our doctors. So what are we talking about?

Brain-washing occurs everywhere. You can’t stereotype only Muslims as getting brain washed. You haven’t opened your eyes properly. Use two pieces of ‘iloshi’ to open them.

Most politicians are normally outcasts and misfits. Look at our own politicians!

And look at you! At which place did you get your brain washed – with all those hate towards Islam?

“For peace? Its because of these organisations we Muslims are getting bad name.”

Your problem is you challenge anti religious question with religious answers, it does not make any sense. The ancient people had same question what we have now, so think about it. It seems they have not been challenged with any credible answers by religious figures. They have not faced by any supernatural thing. But rather the only answers were what ordinary people see every day, the sun, moon, and mountain, rain and in other words Mother Nature and her unique ecosystem.
Any sane mind can see and feel these things the question is why we are here, who sent us and what is the purpose of us in this ecosystem is. If everything in this world is created for human being and human beings are created for praying some supreme being in return to get eternal life with eternal happiness does not sound the real purpose of this universal. And that question cannot be answered and was never answered. Think about the ocean. 71% percent of earth’s surface is covered with water and we human being for us God created earth do not even have a gill ….?
